The Northern Lowlands and Arenal Volcano area are one of Costa Rica’s hottest tourist destinations. This Volcano is one of the ten most active volcanoes on earth and presents a truly awe inspiring sight, as it releases lava and ash from its summit on a daily basis. With regular eruptions, you can feel the rumbling and see steam rising as lava flows down the volcano's flanks.
